““You got big dreams. You want fame. Well, fame COSTS.
And right here’s where you start payin’!”
Jeff Buckley was born on November 17th of 1966 in Anaheim, California. His father was singer-songwriter Tim Buckley who was only 19 when Jeff was born. Tim tragically died from a drug overdose on June 29, 1975 when his son was 8 years old. Jeff was raised by his mother and his stepfather Ron Moorhead. He was brought up as Scotty Moorhead. He barely knew his father and met him only once before his death. Jeff Buckley released his debut album Grace in 1994. While it was not a huge commercial smash (it reached only #149 on the Billboard album charts) it was influential on musicians such as Thom Yorke of Radiohead and Matt Bellamy of Muse. Like the father he barely knew, Buckley died tragically at a young age. Buckley was only 30 when he drowned on May 29, 1997 in the Wolf River Harbor in Memphis, Tennessee.
